Abstract

Highlights •We aimed to establish common guidelines for experimental studies with cattle. •A book on “Methods in cattle physiology and behaviour research” was published. •The book is designed as an open-access living handbook and is open to everyone. •Citing the book saves space and avoids repetitions in scientific journals. •Referencing guidelines reduces apparent plagiarism among authors.
